Ghana’s President Nana Akufo-Addo has hinted at relaxing restrictions, citing the need for normalcy.
He announced during an address on Eid celebrations on Sunday that he’s still making consultations after which hell announce the plans for easing the restrictions.
‘’We cannot be under this restrictions forever,’’ He said.
According to the World Health Organisation, Ghana has confirmed 6,617 coronavirus cases with the virus claiming 31 lives.
President Nana Akufo-Addo is planning to ease the restrictions based on the low fatality rate.
Mr Akufo-Addo also confirmed that the number of severe cases that required hospitalisation and ventilation remained low.
Major cities in Ghana that were identified as coronavirus hot spots have been under lock-down.
The lockdown measures have now been relaxed but public gatherings remain banned.
