Serie A club Genoa have sacked manager Aurelio Andreazzoli. Genoa announced on Tuesday that they had parted ways with Aurelio Andreazzoli two days after being thrashed 5-1 by Parma leaving them at position 19 in the Serie A table.
Thiago Motta is set to be announced as the next Genoa manager. He is expected to work to improve on Genoa’s 19th position.
‘’In the next few hours, news on the make-up of the technical staff will be announced and a presentation news conference will be held for the media. ‘’ Genoa said in a statement
It will the first Head Coach Job for Thiago Motta since he retired from football in 2018. The former Italy international has been coaching Paris Saint Germain under-19s since ending his career with the Ligue One giants.
The 37 year Old was at Genoa in the 2008-2009 season and helped the club to qualify for the UEFA Europa League.
Thiago Motta won league titles and the Champions League with Barcelona and Inter before joining Paris St Germain in 2012. He won 18 trophies in six years at the Parc des Princess.
Genoa will be hosting Brescia in their next Serie A match on Saturday and Thiago Motta could be in charge.
