France eased past Albania with a comfortable 4-1 victory in a match that was played yester night at Stade de France.
France opened the scoring through Bayern Munich’s Kingsley Coman in the 8th minute. Chelsea’s Olivier Giroud doubled the lead for the World Champions in the 27th minute. Antoine Griezmann failed to convert from the spot kick in the 37th minute and the game headed into halftime with France 2-0 up. Kingsley Coman scored his second goal in the 68th minute and Lille’s Jonathan Ikone added the fourth in the 85th minute. Sokol Sikalleshi scored a consolation goal for the visitors in the 90th minute through a penalty.
The win places France on top of group H after winning with 12 points.
France dominated the game with an average ball possession of 72% compared to Albania’s 28%. France also managed a total of 13 shots compared to 3 made by Albania.
In another Euro qualification match, Harry Kane’s hat trick helped England beat 4-0 in a group A match that was played at the Wembley Stadium.
England are now on top of their group after winning all their three matches.
