French side Olympique Marseille have confirmed that former club president Pape Diouf has died aged 68 after contracting Coronavirus.
Diouf was hospitalized in Senegal after contacting COVID – 19 and became Senegal’s first Coronavirus fatality.

The Senegelese was Marseille president between 2005 and 2009, a period when Marseile finished second in Ligue 1 twice and reached two Frech Cup finals.
Marseille took to twitter: ‘’Pape will remain in the hearts of Marseillas forever, as one of the greatest architects in the clubs history.’’
Manchester City defender Benjamin Mendy tweeted: ‘’A great president but above all a huge man, who always worthily represented Marseille and its values. A great loss for French Football and the African continent. Rest in Peace.’’
