Former Manchester United and Everton goalkeeper Tim Howard, 40, has come out of retirement to play for Memphis 901 FC which plays in the USL Championship.
Howard is a part owner and Sporting Director of Memphis. He retired from football in October after a three year stint with Major League Soccer side Colorado Rapids.
‘’I love to play and I love to compete, this gives me the opportunity to do both,’’ Said Howard.
‘’Since my retirement in October, my obsession for football has grown. The desire to win continues to drive me.’’
Howard played 121 times for United States. He also made 491 appearances for both Manchester United and Everton between 2003 and 2016.
