Gor Mahia have been declared 2019/2020 champions by FKF amid the Coronavirus pandemic.
Football Kenya Federation President Nick Mwendwa confirmed the development through his official twitter and congratulated K’Ogalo for the title.
Gor Mahia were 7 points clear of Kakamega Homeboyz after 23 rounds when football in Kenya was suspended due to Coronavirus pandemic.
‘’Congratulations Gor Mahia! You are champions once again and you will represent Kenya on the Champions League next season. Lets do this,’’ Posted Mwendwa.

Mwendwa explained that FKF used the football regulations approved by the FKF Congress to declare Gor Mahia champions.

‘’We have football regulations that were approved by the FKF congress which says, if a league had been played up to 75%, then the standings at the point that it is cut will be used. But if you had not played 75% of the matches, the standings at mid-season will be used.
‘’All our league had not played 75% of matches so clearly the standings we are going to go with are the ones of mid-season for all of our seven tiers, not for KPL alone. That means automatically Gor Mahia are champions and we are forwarding their name to CAF for the CAF Champions League next season…’ told Mwendwa.
