Information Technology Firms in Europe to take down terrorist content, the European Union (EU) has given technology firms just 1 hour to take down all terrorist content from their platforms.
The EU recommended those companies that they should employ people to review and take down content uploaded by terrorists from around the world.
All social media firms operating in Europe have to do more to make the internet a safe place for all. Several companies including Twitter, Facebook and Google (parent company for YouTube) reacted to this announcement from the EU saying that the time given is too limited to review all their content.
Critics of this EU decision have voiced their concerns that this new regulations will lead to suppression of free speech in Europe.
