Europe plans to ban plastic straws and cutlery
European Commission is planning to ban plastics such as straws, cutlery and cotton buds in order to clean our oceans.

A total of 10 items have been listed for banning. These items comprise 70% of all litter on beaches and waters in European Union.
Plastic plates and drinking straws are on that list. All that remains is seeking approval from the EU parliament and member states.
If the ban gets through, plastic producers will be required by law to pay for cost of clean-up and waste management.
