Erik ten Hag, Manchester United boss, said he is ready to work with Cristiano despite the walk-out.
Cristiano Ronaldo’ action of walking out of Old Trafford after being subbed was believed to bring himself consequences, but the boss decided to do away with his acts and focus on working with him.
The walk-out happened when Manchester United was playing a friendly match against Rayo Vallecano and Cristiano was among the starting eleven. At the end of first half, he was subbed for Diallo and he left the stadium before the end of the match.
“I think we’ve said enough on it. I said it’s not correct.
“You mention it, you correct them, then move on.
“I have to point out there were many players who left but the spotlight is on Cristiano, that is not right, He was part of it but there were a lot of players.
“I’m really happy, we have a top striker, I’m really happy he’s here with the squad and we stick to the plan.
“I’m satisfied with the whole team, we’re working good, there is a good culture and Cristiano is working really tough and hard.” Erik ten Hag said.
Manchester United is set to play Premier League opener with Brighton on Sunday. Ten Hag said he is ok with the squad and is ready to start the season.
“I’m convinced we have a good team and a good squad. We can still strengthen but the team has showed it can play at a good level.
“We’re coming into a long season with a lot of games so we need a lot of good players.
“I have a squad and I’m happy with the current squad. We have made good progress, I’m happy with the signings until now. You don’t need any player, you need the right player, that’s what we’re working for.
“If it’s not the right player, then no, we need the right players.” Ten Hag added.
Possibilities of Ronaldo to feature in the Red devil’s first eleven are high after Antony Martial’s hamstring injury.
