The Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi, has approved the appointment of a Chinese in Kano State in Nigeria. The Chinese who was appointed is known as Mike Zhang and if all goes will he will serve as a chief and representative of the Chinese community in Kano State.

Mike Zhang was turbaned at the Emir’s palace in Kano on April 25 and is now referred to as “Wakilin Yan China.” As a local leader, among his mandate will be representing the local Chinese in Kano’s royal palace and from time to time when needed.
