The EACC is investigating the wealth records of the former powerful Cabinet Secretary in Uhuru Kenyatta’s government, Fred Matiang’i.
However, it has been revealed that Fred Matiang’i left the country on 19th Feb 2023. Fred Matiang’i travel history indicates that he travel on board a KLM flight KL566 and therefore he is out of the country.
Fred Matiang’i is said to have left Kenya for the UK via Amsterdam. His whereabouts was known after the DCI requested for information on his travel history. The information shared indicated that he might be in London.
The plane on which Dr. Fred Matiang’i traveled departed from JKIA at 00:04 on Feb 19 and landed in Schiphol Airport at 6:24 am.
Fred Matiang’i is a holder of a diplomatic passport DK0067 and was issued with an ordinary passport on Jan 12, 2022.
The EACC has also written to the Chief of Staff and Head of Public Service, Felix Koskei in regards to Matiang’i declared wealth.
