Dr. Margaret Nyakango has been confirmed as the new Controller of Budget (CoB). She now becomes the second person in Kenya to hold that important office.
Dr. Margaret Nyakango told the vetting committee that she is worth Ksh. 68 million and half of that is made up of her marital home.
Previously, Dr. Nyakango worked at Africa International University and KCA University. She emerged the winner ahead of Duncan Otieno, Edith King’ori and Judith Akumu.
Until her appointment, she has been working as a Director at the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS). She holds a PhD degree in Business Administration and CPA qualifications.
Mrs. Agnes Odhiambo’s term expired on August 2019 and 15 candidates were shortlisted for the job among them being Dr. Margaret Nyakango who will serve for 8 years non-renewable.
