Sharing is Caring

Don’t hurt my kids. That is the message William Ruto sent to President Uhuru Kenyatta. The Deputy President William Ruto has said in a Kiswahili statement that he helped the President to have his current position. He therefore must stop threatening him or his children.

“Sisi ndio tulikusaidia. Sasa eti wewe unaanza kunithreaten mimi?” he said.

“Sisi ndio tulikusaidia, wachakujifanya saizi eti, ama niaje my friends. Sasa eti wewe unaanza kunithreaten mimi? Bora usiue watoto wangu. Lakini mm na wewe tafadhali tuheshimiane (We are the ones who gave you that position, and now you start threats against me? as long as you leave my children alone, there shall be respect between us,)” he added.

Ruto is running for the Presidential seat in the upcoming general election with his rival, the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.

Uhuru decided to back Raila for Presidency instead of Ruto who is his Deputy President due to personal reasons.

The president has ruled for two terms, each term consisting of 5 years, and this is his last term. According to the Kenyan Constitution, a President can only be in power for maximum of  two terms.

Before the President changed his stand and support Raila, he had promised that he will rule for two terms and leave the rest two to his Deputy.

“Namuambia rafiki yangu Uhuru Kenyatta, please, wakati ulikua unahitaji watu wa kusimama na wewe tulisimama na wewe to the last man. Huyo Kitendawili unatusukumia saahizi ni jamaa amehangaisha Kenya na alikuhangaisha ata wewe (My friend Uhuru Kenyatta, we stood by you when you needed us most. That Kitendawili man you are supporting has troubled Kenya including you),” he concluded.
