Civil servants who are posted to their home states have been found to perform worse compared to state officers allocated to states which do not host their home.
Secondly, civil servants who are posted to their home states in India are found to be more corrupt are relatively not able to withstand political pressure.
The three researchers conclude that posting civil servants to their home states may have a negative impact on their ability to deliver on their mandate as state officers.
