Danson Mungatana was today grilled by detectives from EACC or Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission allegedly for theft of Ksh. 51 million from Kilifi County public coffers.
Mungana is vying for Tana River governor’s position on a Jubilee Party ticket. These allegations were made by Lucy Wanjugu Kibogodi of Zohal Services Limited who told the court that Mungatana had used her firm as a conduit for Ksh. 9.1 million illegally from Kilifi County.
The above named company was named as one of the beneficiaries of the Kilifi County booty. The business woman swore an affidavit last year and hence implicated Mungatana on this theft scandal. The theft was made possible through manipulation of IFIMS.
