Following the resignation of Jaap Stam as the manager of Eredivisie Club Feyenoord, the Club have announced Dick Advocaat as the new Head Coach.
Jaap Stam resigned after losing 4-0 to rivals Ajax Amsterdam. The defeat left Feyenoord at position 12 in the Eredivisie table.
Dick Advocaat will take charge till the end of the season. He brings Said Bakkati, Cor Pot and John de Wolf as assistant coaches.
‘’If I can help the Club, I’ll gladly do so. I look forward to meeting the team tomorrow (Thursday) and to be out of the pitch with them.’’ Said Advocaat.
The 72 year old recently managed Utretch and steered them to finish at 6th position in the Eredivisie. He has in the past managed PSV, Rangers, Zenit St Petersburg and Fenerbahce. He has also managed the following national teams: Serbia, Belgium, South Korea, United Arab Emirates and Netherlands.
Feyernoord will face VVV Venlo on Sunday. It will be Advocaat’s first game in charge.
