Delta Airlines (a US carrier) is planning to acquire 100 Boeing 737 Max 10 jets for $13.5 billion and has an option of purchasing another 30 jests.

 

Delta made this announcement at the Farnborough Air show. The company will receiving deliveries in 2025. Delta was previously the only major airline without Boeing 737 Max in its fleet of planes.

 

 

The Boeing 737 Max 10 was grounded for 20 months after two of their planes were involved in fatal crashes which 346 passengers on board. This grounding was lifted towards the end of 2020 after the training and software were updated.

Once they acquire the 100 planes, their fleet will expand to 300 total aircrafts. 

 

The MAX 10 aircraft is said to be 20%-30% more fuel efficient than the  planes that Delta is retiring.
