At least 18 people have been shot dead and 30 wounded in Myanmar. Protesters were demanding that their elected government be reinstated. The government lead by Aung San Suu Kyi was overthrown from power on Feb. 1.
The armed forces fired live ammunition into the crowds of protesters in Yango, Pokokku, Dawei, Bago, Mandalay, Bago and Myeik.
Internationally the use of live ammunition is prohibited when dispersing protesters.
