Former Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has joined Turkish Club Trabzonspor on a three year contract. The 29 year old was released by Liverpool at the end of last season after 6 years at the club. Over that Period, Daniel Sturridge managed to score 67 goals in 160 appearances for the Reds.

Daniel Sturridge won the Champions League with Liverpool in June 2019.

Trabzonspor have won the Turkish League six times and finished in the fourth position in the league last season. Daniel Sturridge is expected to lead Trabzonspor’s attack this season.

Daniel Sturridge joins former Chelsea teammate John Obi Mikel at Trabzonspor who also signed Alexander Sorloth on loan from London Club Crystal Palace this summer.

The former England forward played for Manchester City before joining Chelsea FC in 2009. He joined Liverpool in 2nd January 2013. 

In July 2019, Daniel Sturridge was found guilty of breaching betting rules as a player. He was fined £75,000 and banned from playing football for two weeks.
