5 times Ballon d’Or winner Ronaldo returned to Juventus training on Tuesday after 72 days which included the last 14 days in quarantine.

The 35-year-old was pictured arriving at the club’s Continassa training ground in a black car and was to undergo a medical before joining his teammates.

Ronaldo flew back to his native Madeira after Juventus beat Inter 2-0 behind closed doors on March 8th, their final game before the Serie A was suspended due to the global coronavirus pandemic.

Ronaldo returned to Turin earlier this month and had to spend two weeks in quarantine at his home under Italy’s quarantine rules.

Juventus Head coach Maurizio Sarri is said to be separating his squad into groups of 6 or 7 players as team training resumes.

Italy’s football authorities are yet to announce when the league would resume but have indicated a hope that matches can take place from mid-June.

Italy is one of the worst hit country by coronavirus. Over 225,000 cases have been confirmed with more than 32,000 deaths.

Juventus are still without forward Gonzalo Higuain who returned from Argentina last Thursday and must spend another 10 days in isolation.
