According to Media Ethiopia news website, the country has confirmed 704 new coronavirus cases on Sunday. This is the highest confirmed cases in a single day since March, 2020 when the first case was reported.
A total of 7,334 samples were tested within 24 hours and 704 were confirmed Covid-19 positive. Now Ethiopia’s total positive Covid-19 cases are 10,207.
Out of the 704 recent cases, Addis Ababa is at the lead with 551 positive cases followed by Tigray with 39 cases and 30 cases from Oromia. The Southern Nations, Nationalities and People’s Region (SNNPR) reported 2 cases while Somali region reported 3 cases.
Within 24 hours a total of 2 deaths as a result of Covid-19 were reported. Now the mortality rate stands at 170, and 196 total recoveries and total deaths stand at 5,137 according to the Ethiopian Ministry of Health.
