The election of Cyprian Awiti as Governor of Homa Bay County was recently nullified by the court, a decision that has stirred significant political discussions and reactions

Petitioner: Former Kasipul Member of Parliament, Oyugi Magwanga

Judge: Joseph Karanja

Verdict: “IEBC did not conduct a free and fair election on August 8.”

“Watu wa Homa Bay, itabidi mumerudi kwa debe,” said Judge Joseph Karanja at the Homa Bay High Court.

In December 2017, the High Court ordered a scrutiny of forms 37A, 37B and 37C which were used to declare Homa Bay County Governor Cyprian Awiti as as duly elected.
