A third Brighton player has tested positive for coronavirus. The player was tested on Saturday and will now have to self-isolate for two weeks.
Brighton and Hove Albion players have been carrying out individual training sessions and the club have confirmed that this will continue.
Premier League sides will meet on Monday to discuss their proposed Project Restart plan. The Premier League has been suspended since mid-March due to the coronavirus pandemic.
‘’It is a concern. Despite all of the measures we’ve been taking over the past few weeks, where the players haven’t been involved in significant training at all, We’ve still suffered another player testing positive for the virus.‘’ Paul Barber, Brighton Chief Executive told Sky Sports.
Barber is opposed to Premier League matches being played at neutral venues. Watford FC and Aston Villa are also objecting to the proposal.
It is understood that Monday’s Premier League meeting will feature a vote on whether to extend player contracts until the end of the rescheduled season.
Brighton and Hove Albion sit 15th in the Premier League table, 2 points above relegation.
