RB Salzburg were able to keep social distance and celebrate their Austrian Cup success simultaneously amid the pandemic.
Football activities in Austria have following the covid-19 pandemic, with the campaign on a hiatus since March.
Salzburg thrashed Austria Lustenau 5-0 in a final staged at Klagenfurt.
Dominik Szoboszlai scored the first goal in the 19th minute before Lustenau’s Dominik Stumberger scored an own goal in the 21st minute. The game headed into half-time with Salzburg 2-0 ahead.
Goals from Noah Okafor, Majeed Ashimeru and Sekou Koitain the second half wrapped up the win for Salzburg.
The game was played without fans.
Some fans however watched the game from their cars at a drive-in viewing.
Salzburg adhered to social distancing guidelines as they celebrated their seventh Austrian Cup.
Austrian League is set to resume on Tuesday. Leaders Salzburg are 3 points clear at the top and will play Rapid Vienna on Wednesday.
