The patients complained about lack of drugs and proper feeding.
The patients came into contact with the members of the community on Tuesday evening and blocked a highway in the nearby Kwadon village about 8 Kilometres from the state capital.
Ahmed Gana, the State’s Health Commisssioner told BBC that the patients were ‘symptom free’ and did not require drugs. The state authorities denied allegations about lack of proper feeding.
The officials managed to persuade the patients back to the treatment centre, but were worried about a possible spread of the virus to the villagers who were witnessing the demonstration.
Those who might have come into contact with the demonstrating patients were urged to self-isolate themselves for two weeks.
Gombe state has so far confirmed 100 Coronavirus cases against a national tally of 2948. The virus has claimed 98 lives in Nigeria.
