Due to the impact of COVID – 19, Leeds United players, coaching staff and management have volunteered to take a wage deferral. This will ensure that their 272 full-time non-football staff can be paid.
The FA recently announced the suspension of English football until the end of April.
The club told that COVID – 19 will cost them ‘several million pounds’ each month.
Leeds Director of football Victor Orta thanked the team and the staff: ‘’My players have demonstrated an incredible sense of unity and togetherness.
‘’To Marcelo [Bielsa] and his staff and all of the players, we thank them for putting our wider team first and taking care of family.’’
Leeds United are one point clear on top of the Championship table with 71 points after 37 games.
