Many people have been saying that African genes are unique and resistant against the coronavirus also known as COVID-19. Doubts are now arising after Kenya’s Cabinet Secretary for Health Mutahi Kagwe just confirmed the first case of COVID-19 in Kenya.
The victim is a Lady who traveled from the United States of America to Kenya via London.
This has prompted the government to suspend all public gatherings, inter-school sports tournaments and other social gatherings with the exception of church events.
CS Mutahi Kagwe stated that churches will be spared but directed that they should have hand sanitizers in place.
Kenyans on Twitter were eager to question the wisdom of the last decision to leave churches outside the ban order.
They indicated that hand sanitizers aren’t enough. What is those already infected with coronavirus or COVID-19 sneeze? They wondered on how logical is the CS’s ban exceptions.
Now that coronavirus is here with us, we should find out where to buy surgical masks, we should stop shaking hands forthwith and keep ourselves and our environments clean.
I propose that we clean our hands more often throughout the day and stop touching our faces since that will increase your chance of being infected by the COVID-19 which was yesterday declared a global pandemic.
It is worth noting that this is the fourth time that World Health Organization is declaring an outbreak as a pandemic.
The pandemic, NOVID-19, is affecting people from all walks of life. I read news this morning that the wife of Canadian Prime Minister (PM) has been confirmed positive for COVID-19. A couple of owners of soccer teams have already tested +ve. Soccer players have not been spared either.
Do you remember when some two soccer teams played their game in an empty stadium.
Coronavirus is not even sparing the global economy. Now the stock markets are feeling the heat and pundits have predicted that COVID-19 may not cause the bust but it will make it worse.
Watch out for more updates on coronavirus or COVID-19.
