In this article we try to answer the question: How bad is Coronavirus in Greece? The country is to open up on 15th June 2020 to tourists from 29 countries. Those from the worst affected countries like UK will not be allowed, the BBC reports.
The tourism ministry said in a statement issued on Friday that tourists from EU countries including Germany, Austria, Finland and Denmark will be able to visit from mid-June.
Those from the world’s worst affected counties – including France, UK, Spain and Italy are not on the list.
More countries could be added before 1st July.
Tourists from 16 EU countries will be allowed into the country, including the Czech Republic, Malta, Cyprus and Baltic countries.
Those from Japan, South Korea China, Australia, New Zealand, Lebanon and Israel will also be allowed.
Only airports in Thessaloniki and Athens will reopen from 15th June.
The ministry said that some visitors could be tested for the virus.
Over 2,900 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Greece with the virus claiming 175 lives.
