La Liga has confirmed that 5 players have tested positive for Covid-19 across Spain’s top two divisions.
The tests were taken as a measure for the league to resume, and 42 training grounds were used as testing camps for both players and staff.
La Liga did not name the 5 players and all were asymptomatic.
‘’Between the clubs of first and second divisions, five positive cases have been detected among players, all of them asymptomatic and in the final stage of the illness.’’ La Liga said in a statement.
The players who tested positive will remain in isolation and will be again be tested in the coming days.
Players will be allowed to rejoin training when they return two consecutive negative results.
La liga is hoping to resume its matches but a decision on the dates has not been made.
