Sharing is Caring

Italy and Spain are among a number of countries in Europe that moved to relax coronavirus lockdown restrictions on Monday.

Most businesses in Italy are reopening after more than two months of nationwide lockdown measures.

Cafes, restaurants, bars, shops and hairdressers have been allowed to open under strict social distancing guidelines.

Catholic churches have also reopened for Mass but worshippers must wear face masks and maintain social distance.

This is after Italy recorded a drop in the number of daily coronavirus deaths. On Sunday, 145 deaths were recorded – the lowest since the country introduced lockdown measures. Coronavirus deaths in Italy were at its peak on 27th March when the country recorded more than 900 deaths.

Spain has slightly relaxed restrictions in some of its least affected islands.

On Sunday Spain’s death toll fell below 100 for the first time since lockdown was introduced by the Spanish government. 87 deaths were recorded.

People can meet in groups of up to 10 people so long as they wear face masks and maintain social distance.

La liga clubs have also been allowed to train in groups of 10 as the country’s top flight prepares to resume next month.

However, Barcelona, Madrid and some parts of north-west that are badly affected and restrictions remain in place.
