Bundesliga side FC Koln have reported that 3 people at the club have tested positive for Coronavirus, but training will go ahead as the German top-flight is preparing to resume.
The three people who tested positive are symptom free. The club did not reveal the names out of privacy of those affected.
The German Bundesliga looks to become the first league to return to action following the Covid -19 pandemic.
German clubs are already back in training but FC Koln’s arrangement have received a setback.
Chancellor Merkel said on Thursday that any decision on if and when sporting activities will resume in Germany will be taken on Wednesday 6th May.
The Bundesliga has been suspended since mid-March due to the global coronavirus pandemic.
With 9 rounds of games remaining, Cologne sit 10th in the Bundesliga table.
A statement on FC Koln’s website read: “Three people tested positive, all are symptom free. After an assessment of the cases by the responsible health authorities, the three people who tested positive will go into a 14-day quarantine at home.
“FC Koln will not confirm any names out of respect for the privacy of those affected.
“FC Koln’s training can continue as planned, according to the hygiene and infection control measures that have been in place since April 6th in group training.”
