Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has confirmed that the number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the African continent were 115,616 by Tuesday afternoon with 3,479 deaths connected with the virus, the Daily Nation reports.
Africa CDC’s report issued on Tuesday also reveal that 46, 630 patients have recovered from the virus.
The Africa CDC say the Northern part of Africa is the most affected region in the African continent both in terms of confirmed cases and deaths.
According to the Africa CDC, the most affected countries include South Africa with 23,615 confirmed cases, Egypt with 17, 967 cases, Algeria with 8,503 confirmed cases, Nigeria with 8,063 confirmed cases and Morocco with 7,556 confirmed cases.
The continental disease control agency added that the virus has spread across all the 54 countries in the continent.
