A total of 55 Covid-19 cases have been confirmed in a school in Accra, Ghana.
The health authorities in the West African countries tested a total of 314 students and staff at Accra Girls Senior High School.
According to a joint statement from the Ghana Educational Service and the Ghana Health Service, all the confirmed cases have been isolated for treatment.
Schools were reopened in Ghana in June for the final year students who are scheduled to write their exams.
Last week, President Nana Akufo-Addo was reported to be working from isolation after he came into contact with someone who had tested positive for the deadly virus.
The country’s Chief Justice Kwasi Anin Yeboah also isolated himself at his home last week after reports emerged that some judges had tested positive.
