Serie A club Sampdoria have confirmed that 4 first team players and a team doctor have tested positive for the deadly coronavirus.
The club announced on Friday that Antonino La Gumina, Motrten Thorsby, Albin Ekdal and Omar Colley have the virus along with doctor Amedeo Baldari.
Two days ago Sampdoria had announced that forward Manolo Gabbiadini was the second Serie A player to contract the virus after Juventus defender Daniele Rugani.
Italy has recorded over 1000 deaths as a result of the virus. The Italian government has suspended all sport activities and placed the country in lockdown.
The Premier League, French Ligue 1 and the German Bundesliga have all been postponed until April due to the virus.
