The 28th Conference of Parties (CoP 28) is the largest gathering of various participants from government, private sector and NGOs from around the global to discuss climate change.
United States of America, 27 member states of European Union and small island states are pushing for the end of fossil fuels as a solution to reducing carbon dioxide emissions.
The expected key outcome of the CoP28 is the complete phasing out of fossil fuels.
Leading oil and gas producers such as Saudi Arabia and Russia are not committed to that end of phasing out fossil fuels.
