The Airbus A330-243 flying to Cancun, Mexico, from Frankfurt, landed at Shannon in Ireland.
Recent reports indicate that a flight with 326 passengers on board was forced to make an emergency landing after hot coffee spilt on the dashboard (control panel) by accident. When this happened the jet was cruising over the Atlantic Ocean.
The plane was heading to Cancun in Mexico from Frankfurt but forced landing was made in Ireland.
The hot coffee is reported to have caused a strong smell of electrical burning as well as smoke was seem rising from the panel in the airbus.
This made the captain to divert his trip according to reports by the Air Accidents Investigations Branch.
This happened after a pilot left his coffee cup with no lid on a tray table instead of a cup holder.
No one was injured during the incident which took place in February. The report did not reveal the name of the airline.
