Bruges had a 15-point lead over KAA Gent when the season was suspended in March due to coronavirus.
It means Club Brugge have qualified for the next season’s Champions League. Second placed KAA Gent will qualify for the Champions League third qualifying round.
Third placed Charleroi will enter the Europa League group stages as Royal Antwerp and Standard Liege qualify for the competition’s 3rd and 2nd qualifying round respectively.
Bottom placed Waasland Beveren have been relegated to the Proximus League and will be replaced by the winner of promotion play-off between Beerschot VA and OH Leuven.
Simon Mignolet, Club Brugge goalkeeper, posted a video on his twitter handle celebrating.
