Canadian Prime Minister (PM) Justin Trudeau made an official visit to Ethiopia to attend the 33rd African Union Summit. He was welcomed by the Prime Minister of Ethiopia Dr. Abiy Ahmed Ali.
The Prime Minister of Canada met other African leaders such as Somali’s President Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed during the 33rd African Union Summit in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The two leaders discussed peace-keeping and fighting terror in the horn of Africa.
The Canadian PM also met other African leaders such as Muhammadu Buhari (Nigeria), Fatta el-Sisi (Egypt), Paul Kagame (Rwanda), Sahle WorkZewde (Ethiopia) and Faki Mahamat (Chairperson of African Union).
The theme for the 33rd AU Summit was: Gender Equality and Women Empowerment in Africa.
