Global Affairs Canada did not specify which states laws will affect the Canadian citizens during their travels.
In most cases, these kinds of warning are reserved for countries such as Egypt, Uganda and Russia.
The Human Rights Campaign which is the largest advocacy group for LGBT community in the US stated that in June LGBT Americans were facing a state of emergency considering that states continued targeting them.
