The German Football League (DFL) has decided that the Bundesliga will resume on 15th May, after the government gave a green light on a return to action.

The government said that the top two divisions could resume in the second-half of May with the DFL left to decide the exact dates.

All the remaining games will be played without spectators.

Football in Germany has been suspended since March due to the coronavirus pandemic. More than 150,000 cases have been confirmed in Germany with the virus claiming about 6,300 lives.

The Bundesliga will be the first major football league to resume in Europe. The Dutch Eredivisie and the French Ligue 1 ended their campaigns.

With 9 rounds of fixtures left to play, Bayern Munich are on top of the Bundesliga table, four points ahead of Dortmund.
