Premier League club Brighton and Hove Albion is opposed to completing the league campaign at neutral venues.
The club’s Chief executive Paul Barber says completing the league in neutral venues would comprise the league’s integrity while maintaining that they are committed to complete the season if possible.
“Clearly, we must all be prepared to accept some compromises. We fully appreciate why playing behind closed doors is very likely to be a necessary compromise to play our remaining games while continuing to fully support the government’s efforts to contain the spread of coronavirus,” Said Barber.
“But at this critical point in the season, playing matches in neutral venues has, in our view, potential to have a material effect on the integrity of the competition.” He added.
Not all of the proposed 8 to 10 stadiums will be Premier League grounds although a majority will be.
Barber also said that the Premier League is yet to contact them over reports that the Amex Stadium is one of the neutral venues selected to help complete the season.
Brighton and Hove Albion sit 15th in the Premier League table, with 9 games left to play including home fixtures against Manchester City, Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal.
