We’ve access to additional information on Bonyunyu Dam Project based in Kitutu Masaba Constituency of Nyamira County. According to Lake Victoria South Water Services Board under completed, ongoing and planned projects the following information is made available on Bonyunyu Project:
a) Financier = Dutch government
b) Beneficiaries = 230,000 residents
c) Budget = Ksh. 4,030,800,000 (Nyamira); Kisii County (Ksh. 1,838,000,000)
d) Expected project completion date = January 2022 (2021/2022)
We’ll keep you updated on this matter on compensation, environmental and social impact of the dam among other issues.
