The Board of Management (BOM) teachers will receive a five-month pay starting August to December. The teachers will be paid Ksh 10,000 each.
This means the teachers will not be paid for the previous months that they have gone without pay.
Principal Secretary Belio Kipsang’ says who worked as at March 15, 2020 will be paid.
“Each teacher must sign for the money personally and records must be kept for later auditing,” said Education Pincipal Secretary Belio Kipsang in a circular to regional coordinators of education and county directors of education.
The teachers will be paid once teachers’ data submitted by the principals is verified.
The government has released free-day secondary education funds to maintain and improve school infrastructure, pay non-teaching staff, cover administration costs and National Health Insurance Fund Eduafya funds.
“The Ministry of Education has released free-day secondary education funds at a capitation rate of Sh5,151 per student,” reads a circular by Education PS Belio Kipsang’.
