Ugandan opposition MP Robert Kyangulanyi, popularly known as Bobi Wine has launched his National Unity Platform party, ahead of next year’s elections.
The party will be the political wing of his People Power Movement.
‘’I stand here to announce to the nation that we are unveiling the National Unity Platform, the political wing of the People Power Movement,’’ Bobi Wine said.
The symbol of the party is an umbrella.
Bobi Wine will be contesting for the country’s top office in the upcoming elections.
The People Power Movement has picked a red and white umbrella as its symbol ahead of the polls.
Uganda is set to hold general elections in January 2021.
President Yoweri Museveni will be seeking his sixth term in office. He has already picked up his nomination.
The commission in charge of elections in Uganda banned campaigns because of the coronavirus pandemic. Those who will be running for various positions have been told to use the media to reach out to the voters.
