The controversial Ugandan singer and Member of Parliament, Bobi Wine has officially declared his interest in the presidential seat come 2021 national elections.
Bobi Wine’s real name is Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu. He has shown willingness to challenge President Yoweri Museveni who has been in power for 33 years.
“On behalf of the people of Uganda, I am challenging you (Museveni) to a free and fair election in 2021,” Bobi Wine said on Wednesday during an event in Kampala, Uganda.
And,
“I know the danger I am going to face to challenge Museveni but I have been encouraged by Ugandans that I am the leader they want,” he later told media house AFP news.
Bobi Wine has been a Member of Parliament (MP) for two years now. He refers to himself as the “ghetto president” and has already been criticizing President Benjamin Museveni.

Bobi Wine has been seen as a champion of the poor people and this is also reflected in his music where he sings about democracy and social justice.
Bobi Wine has been arrested on numerous occasion due to his criticism of President Museveni.
