Bayern Munich have clinched an eighth successive Bundesliga title after a 1-0 win at Werder Bremen.
Bayern Munich headed into Tuesday’s game with a 7-point lead over Borussia Dortund knowing a win would be enough to see them retain the title with two games left to play.
Robert Lewandowski scored the only goal at the Weserstadion as Bremen failed to capitalise on Alphonso Davies’ red card in the 79th minute.
Bayern Munich defending the title looked unlikely in the first half of the season.
Niko Kovac oversaw 5 wins from the first 10 Bundesliga games before he was sacked.
However, Hansi Flick turned things around and Bayern are unbeaten in the Bundesliga since Kovac was sacked.
With the Bundesliga title secured, Bayern now turn their attention to the UEFA Champions League and DFB Pokal Cup.
Bayern Munich hold a 3-0 advantage over Chelsea from the first leg in the UEFA Champions League last-16.
They are also through to the DFB-Pokal Cup final at the Olympiastadion in Berlin on July 4, when they’ll face Bayer Leverkusen.
