Despite the speculations that Kounde will sign for the Blues, Barcelona has outplayed Chelsea and signed the player.
Jules Kounde moved from Sevilla on €55 million to Barcelona. Barcelona did not beat Chelsea in signing Kounde but also Raphinha from Leeds.
The Chelsea center-back, Andreas Christensen, joined the LaLiga giants on a free transfer. Barcelona finished second last season.
Among the other signings made by Barcelona during this transfer window include the Bayern Munich forward Robert Lewandowski and Franck Kessie, a midfielder from Ivory coast. The two transfers were free.
