A baby is born with three arms, two hearts and two heads. This incident has left doctors shocked in India.
The parents Sohail and Shaheen were expecting two normal twins but were left shocked when she gave birth to a baby with two heads on 28 March in Ratlam in India.
The condition is known as dicephalic parapagus where babies are joined by one torso and in most cases leads to still birth. The twins were admitted at a hospital in the city of Indore and are being attended by doctors.
“These kind of cases are rate and the condition of babies remains uncertain, especially in the initial days,” saod Dr. Lahoti.
‘Due to this, we have kept them under observation.
‘We have not planned for any surgery on the patient.’
Dicephalic parapagus is an extremely rare form of conjoinment which has a probability of happening in one in a million births.
In 2019 a 21 year-old woman gave birth to a baby with two head and three arms again in India.
The parents, Jaswant Singh and wife Babita Ahirwar were shocked when she delivered the infant on Nov 23 of 2019.
‘Everyone is shocked to see them. We cannot believe our child has two heads.’
The said couple had married 18 months earlier and were eager to received their first born.
‘Initially, I thought it was a twin, but when the nurses removed the towel, I was shocked to see our firstborn with two heads and three hands.
‘All we wanted was a normal and healthy baby, but the almighty wanted to punish us this way. I don’t know why.’
Later they vowed to raise the baby the best way that they would.
