Flash floods have left behind a trail of destruction in Afar Region of Ethiopia. This has displaced tens of thousands.
The Awash River flooding has displaced 32,000 people in Afar Region alone. The areas severely affected in Afar Region are: Afambo, Amibara, Aisaita and Dubti.
According to the Ethiopian News Agency, the president of Afar Region, Awol Arba, has said that the administration will do everything possible to help the flood victims in the region.
People in the flood prone areas have been evacuated in some cases using helicopters. However, social media reports indicate that what has been done so far is a drop in the ocean considering the magnitude of the situation.
