AS Monaco winger Gelson Martins has been suspended indefinitely for pushing a referee, pending investigations by Ligue de Football Professionel.
Martins pushed referee Mikael Lesage twice during AS Monaco’s 3-1 loss to Nimes on 1st February.
He had initially shoved Lesage when his teammate Tiemue Bakayoko was sent off in the 32nd minute. He was sent off and pushed the referee again.
Martins joined Monaco from Laliga club Atletico Madrid in 2019 and he risks being suspended for up to 6 months.
Bakayoko was banned for two ligue one matches.
Martins has scored 4 times and assisted once for Monaco, who are placed 10th in the French Ligue one table.
